About the project
Insurance research organized around real work
Solo Business Insurance Guide is an independent educational resource for self-employed professionals and small service businesses in the United States.
Why this site exists
Small-business insurance pages are often organized around the product a company wants to sell. We organize from the other direction: the work, the realistic loss scenario, the contract, and the rule that actually applies.
Current scope
The first edition focuses on photographers, cleaners, beauty professionals, trainers, tutors, pet-care providers, designers, consultants, mobile detailers, handymen, and videographers. State-specific pages are added only when there is enough distinct, verifiable information to justify them.
Editor
Articles are researched, organized, and reviewed by Morgan Reyes, who spent several years handling small-business insurance placements and claims support before moving to writing full-time. Automation assists with research organization and drafting under the process described in our methodology; it is not treated as a source. See our editorial policy for corrections and disclosure standards.
